This is my son Lou (4 years old) and Thierry (my boyfriend and father of Lou). We’ve been together for 7 years. This photo was last Saturday when we celebrated my son’s birthday.

Here is our “little” baby cat. We named him Cashmire. He’s 2 years old and still crazy like a baby. And he sleeps on my pillow each night. And he is so nice with my son.
Here is my boyfriend’s cat : Cotonel. He’s old and is boring.
Here is the last baby we bought at the end of August. Our little baby Sookie. She won’t be more than 3-4 pounds. She’s a lionhead rabbit. I’ve already had rabbits when I was living with my parents. But this one is the best. She’s very nice and soft.

On Sunday I made 2 pizza. I made the crust in my bread machine. Then I made the pizza sauce (no cooking involved). I put pepperoni on both pizza. And plenty of veggies on top : mushrooms, red bell peppers and red onions. The crust is very good and the sauce is great.
This week I’m tired a lot. Yesterday my boyfriend got a little surgery. He can’t walk for almost a week. In the middle of the night it began to ache. So I didn’t sleep a lot. He was supposed to go to work but couldn’t. It’s too painfull. I’m so glad to have leftover of pizza and also salmon pie. I don’t feel like cooking.
I’ve always loved when my mother made salmon pie (pâté au saumon). Her recipe was very simple. She used a can of red salmon, kept the juice to mash the potatoes, added a roasted onion and that was it. All of this in a pie crust and topped with another one. Sometimes she added cooked diced carrots, but I didn’t like it so much.
She was visiting us for the weekend and I told her I wanted to do a salmon pie. I’ve never made one. Here is the one I made : Rustic Salmon Pie.
The recipe didn’t say to keep or drain the salmon liquid. I kept it and added it to my potatoes. And I used a bit more of mashed potatoes. I roasted a small onion and green onions and added this to the mixture.
The pastry crust is really easy to do with the food processor. In the filling since I used the liquid of the salmon, I used just a little bit of 2% fat milk. I kept the bones and skins from the salmon. It adds calcium to the recipe.
Last Friday, I told you I would try a recipe with broccoli. It was great. We all loved it. It’s a great dish for those who don’t like broccoli like me. I’m glad that it’s finally Friday. I had a weird week. On Wednesday night I got an headache, runny nose, and I was sneezing a lot. I felt like I got the flu. At 9:30 I went to bed. I would have like to read but was not well enough. And yesterday I was fine. No cold, no flu. That’s weird but I’m glad it was only an evening.
Today my mother is visiting us until Monday morning. Tomorrow is my son’s birthday. 4 years old. We’re invited for lunch at my father in law. It’s going to be great 🙂 We’re bringing the Scooby-Doo cake. It’s going to be awesome.
Tonight for dinner, we’re going to eat steak on bbq (I did the marinade this morning), twice-baked potatoes from Barbies (a restaurant we have in Montreal that I love), and I’m going to do a recipe with broccoli, mushroom soup and cheese. I’m going to post the recipe with photo later in the weekend. I hope it’s going to be delicious. I don’t really like broccoli but maybe it’s going to be great in this recipe.
This is a wonderful drink (for us). I hope you’ll enjoy if you try it.
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce sour apple schnapps or apple Schnapps
1 ounce Applejack or apple juice or applesauce
Shake everything with ice in a shaker until frosted. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass (martini glass) and garnish with a slice of apple.
I say spoon because it was too good that I ate it with a spoon. I’m glad I didn’t do the whole recipe. I did a small serving. If you love peanut butter, you’ll love this. It’s amazing.
